Winners of Start Something Research Commercialisation Program
Congratulations to the nineteen researchers who completed the Start Something Research Commercialisation Program.
It was fantastic to see such high quality research being translated into outstanding social or economic impact at Curtin University. Thanks to Innovation Central, Atomic Sky and Curtin University in the month-long masterclass series we trained the cohort on business plans, research to startup pathways and expanded research-industry networks.
The cohort included world-class research in mining technology, energy resources recovery, biomed, social impact education and agritech. To further accelerate commercialisation, prizes were sponsored by CSIRO ON and Curtin University (Curtin Ignition Scholarships).
The winners were;
Alishum Ali; Preterm Birth Prevention
Dr Vidyasagar Potdar; Blockchain for Food Safety
Kevin Wernli; Back on Track, the BackPainApp Industry
Mentors included Power Ledger, AgriStart, CSIRO, Triangle capital, NERA, Fugro, METS Ignited, Atomic Sky, Mavuno, AppsPeople, MaldiID and Curtin University Advisors. Particularly Greg Riebe, Peter Clarke and Rohal McDougall who helped throughout.
Start Something has now trained over 400 researchers to commercialise with impact. www.startsomething.org.au
